This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1986 Dorman's Cheese Chicago Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

There are 20 cards in the 1986 Dorman's Cheeseset, with two Cubs players.

Size of Cards

The individual cards measure approximately 1 1/2" by 2" whereas the panels measure 3" by 2".

Basic Features

Food cards are extremely popular among collectors. This is only one of hundreds of odd sets on the market. For decades, baseball cards have been used as a promotional feature in packaged foods. Dorman's decided to participate in the baseball card mania.

The 1986 Dorman Cheese Baseball Card set was a limited edition, Regional Set of (10) Two-Player Card Panels found in their packages of cheese. The cards were produced by MSA, and team logos have been removed from the photos as these cards were not licensed by Major League Baseball. The backs contain some information.
