Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1984 Fun Foods Pins Cubs Checklist

Basic Features

Sometime near the end of 1984, or early in 1985, Fun Foods Pins featured the prominent stars of baseball. The colored border surrounding each photo corresponds to the player's team, with blue representing the Cubs. Each pin is numbered on the back, along with the player's position and a specific statistic. Complete sets could be obtained from hobby dealers, and they were also sold in packs of three buttons at retail outlets.
