Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1989 Donruss All-Stars Chicago Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

64 cards in the 1989 Donruss All-Stars collection included 5 Cubs players.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are standard-size 2 ½ x 3 ½

Basic Features

The 1989 Donruss regular issue is quite similar in style to these All-Stars, which are standard size. The League logos in the lower right corner of each card make this collection unique. At the All-Star Game last year, every player took part. One Pop-Up, five All-Star cards, and a Warren Spahn puzzle card were included in each individual wax All Stars pack.

Although the pop-up set is not chronologically numbered, it is similar to the first ten cards in each league's base set (cards #1–#10 and #33–#42) because it contains the starting lineups for the 1988 All-Star Game. These inserts feature Ryne Sandberg and Andre Dawson.
