Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1985 Fleer + Update Chicago Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

1985 Fleer has 660 cards which there are 25 Cubs players and 4 Update cards

Card Dimensions

The standard-sized cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"

Basic Features

At the top of the card fronts, you can easily spot the team emblem, players' names, and positions. The bottom edge proudly showcases the Fleer logo. As for the backs, they maintain the tradition of being printed on white card stock with a combination of red and black ink. A black and white player photograph is included, accompanied by the customary bio stats and fascinating trivia in the "did you know" section.

1985 Fleer Update is a 132-card "Traded" style set was issued in factory set form exclusively through Hobby dealers. The design is identical to the regular-issue 1985 Fleer cards except for the U prefixed card numbers on back. Cards are ordered alphabetically by the player's name.
