Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1992 Score Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

894 cards in the 1992 Score collection included 30 Cubs players and 5 traded cards.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are standard-size 2 ½ x 3 ½

Basic Features

Fronts feature an action shot with the player's name and team logo at the top and the position they played at the bottom. The reverse of this set featured a player's name, position he played, and Cubs emblem beneath that, as well as the standard bio and stats, with a blurb about the player's career. Also on the back is a portrait of the player in the upper portion of the card. Over all, this is not a bad set to collect with a ton of subsets, which I have listed below. The Sandberg All-Star card had great caricatures of him and is one of my favorite cards of that year to collect.

The card for Slammin' Sammy Sosa in the trading set was number 23t.

Greg Maddux was snubbed again in 1991 and didn't make the all-star team, which in my opinion is a travesty.

The second year that Score issued its set in two different series. There are 442 cards in the first series and 451 in the second series. Cards were delivered in factory sets, blister packs, jumbo packs, plastic-wrapped packs, and blister packs.
