Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Number of Cards

1987 Donruss Leaf has 264 cards which there are 9 Cubs players

Card Dimensions

Basic Features

The 1987 Donruss Leaf baseball card collection closely resembles the Donruss U.S. set, with the main differences being the card numbers and the bilingual backs, which feature both French and English. Each card showcases a vibrant action shot of the player, bordered in black and gold. At the top, you'll find the Donruss logo along with the year, while the player's name and position are displayed at the bottom within a colored strip. Additionally, the team logo is positioned near the bottom of the card. The reverse side is printed in black ink on a yellow and white background, featuring the usual player biography and statistics. Notably, the cards from factory sets have a different orientation compared to those from wax packs, which can create the illusion that one set is upside down when viewed from the back.

  • Diamond King (DK)
  • Rated Rookies (RR)
