Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

I love baseball; therefore, there were additional trivia questions about the sport included with the stamps. The stamps are presented below in alphabetical order and are not numbered. Three distinct colored Vend-A-Strip dispensers were also used to distribute the stamps. There were 18 stamps and 11 quizzes in each row of a dispensor, for a total of 288 stamps.

1983 Fleer Star + Team Stickers Chicago Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

1983 Fleer has 323 cards which there are 9 Cubs players and one checklist.

Card Dimensions

The smaller sized stickers are the following dimensions: 1 3/4" x 2 1/2"

Basic Features

Player stickers were reinstated in 1983 following a one-year hiatus in 1982. The 1983 baseball stickers came in strips of 12 with 10 players and 2 team logos each, and were smaller than a typical baseball card.

The design is very similar to the 1981 design with blue borders, a yellow frame around the picture, and even 2 red stars at the top.

Each of the logo stickers' backs had an advertisement for a massive 3 by 4 foot poster that you could use to compile your sticker collection. Fleer released this poster in place of a sticker album (like what Fleer released for the 1982 stamp set). This big, clumsy poster wasn't well received by fans, who thought it was a cheap replacement for an album.

Number of Cards

1983 Fleer - Team Stickers has 52 cards which there are 3 Cubs emblems

Card Dimensions

The cards are the following dimensions: 2" by 3."

Basic Features

Stickers took the place of gum as the add-in for packs for the second year running. A lawsuit resulted in a decision allowing only Topps to utilize gum as a selling factor for baseball cards. Fleer and Donruss, the newcomers, had to adjust as a result.

Every squad has two standard stickers: one features the team cap and the other the logo. Having said that, there are a few minor differences, such as the placement of the 'Peel' instructions and the gradient background color.
