Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1984 Donruss Action All-Stars Cubs

Number of Cards

60 cards in the 1984 Donruss Action All-Stars collection included 2 Cubs players.

Size of Cards

Each card measures approximately 3 1/2" by 5"

Basic Features

The fronts of this year's cards contain an action photo with a red border and a player's name and position on the bottom. On the backs, the top section contains the card number and a full-color portrait of the player pictured on the front. The bottom half features the player's career statistics. A Ted Williams puzzle with Dick Perez providing the artwork the 63 piece puzzle was included with the collection. Given that it was only available to Action All-Stars, this challenge is the hardest of all the Donruss puzzles. Each pack of 1984 Donruss Action All-Stars has a three-piece panel for a total of 63 pieces.

These Donruss puzzle sets are really cool to collect. The artwork was good enough to frame, and I wish there were a whole set of famous Cubs players.
