This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1980 Laughlin Famous Feats Second Series

Basic Features

This collection has 40 standard-sized cards that are printed on white card paper. Most of the drawings have many colors. The front of each card has a number, and the collection is called "Second Series of Famous Feats." The athletes' caricatures were created by sports artist R.G. Laughlin and are of high quality. The backs are blank.

The first set was the 1972 Fleer "Famous Feats" set. Fleer issued several small sets illustrated by sports artist Robert Laughlin, capturing various aspects of baseball history.
