This 45-card standard-size set, which has sepia-toned posed and action player photographs with white borders, was produced by TCMA in 1983. The player's name is displayed in a blue-outline bannerr at the bottom, which also features icons of a baseball glove, bat, ball, and catchers' mask. The cardboard backs have a black print and display a player profile, a biography, and a Playball commercial. Each TCMA Playball set cost $4 and could be purchased straight from TCMA.TCMA is the initials of founders Tom Collier and Michael Aronstein
I enjoy collecting this set because it contains several under-the-radar players from earlier decades. Who knew Dom Dellessandro had 74 runs in 119 games? Yes, he was Mr. Clutch.
