This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Members of the 300/400/500 club—those with 300 pitching victories, at least.400 batting averages, or 500 home runs since 1900—are represented in this This 30-card diamond shaped 3 1/4” X 3 1/4” group of 30 players. The back of the cards are blank, but they have numbers on the front. The player's physique is illustrated by R.G. Laughlin, and the cards' standard headshot is blown up out of proportion. This has a result that is similar to the Goudey Heads Up playing cards.
