Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1988 Topps Rite-Aid Cubs Checklist

Basic Features

This production, with the tagline "Team MVPs," was made for Rite Aid Drugs. Every card has the Rite Aid logo at the top. The player's image is presented on the cards in high-gloss, full color, surrounded by a red, white, and blue frame. On white card stock, the card backs are printed in blue and black. The compact collector box's back panel has the set's check list. There are only two lines of statistics on the card backs: totals from the previous season and totals from the major leagues.
