This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Basic Features

In 1985, the "3-D" style coins and their importance in the 7-Eleven promotional lineup kept changing. distributed one per specially marked Slurpee cup at associated Great Lakes 7-Eleven convenience outlets. The backs of the coins in each set were colored differently, providing a second way to identify the location of the coins. The 1985 set included a third image for a total of three separate player photos; the 1983 and 1984 sets only had two photos per player.
