Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Donruss Baseball's Best boxed set was released late in the 1988 season and was only available through large national retailers. The Baseball’s Best boxed sets were only available for three years before being discontinued. The first Baseball's Best set, dubbed the "Halloween set," was issued in the fall and featured an identical design to the 1988 Donruss base set, with the exception of a black and orange color scheme instead of blue and black borders. As a result, the Halloween set was created.
