This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1985 Donruss Super DK's Cubs

28 cards in the 1985 Donruss Super DK's collection included a Cubs player.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are approximately 4 15/16 by 6 3/4".

Basic Features

The first 26 cards from the Donruss regular set this year were enlarged and made into Donruss Super DKs. The collection also contains a Lou Gehrig puzzle card, a card by artist Dick Perez, and the Diamond Kings checklist. The Perez-Steele Galleries created the collection, which was available as a write-in offer on the wrappers of this year's Donruss regular cards. The wax pack wrappers included information on the offer to purchase this set; three wrappers and $9.00 were needed.
