Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1988 Nestle Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

44 cards in the 1988 Nestle collection included 1 Cubs player.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are standard-size 2 ½ x 3 ½

Basic Features

This collection was created by Mike Schechter Associates for Nestle and printed in Canada. The Major League Baseball did not appear to have granted the Nestle set a license, as seen by the absence of team logos in the pictures. This front has a player portrait with a big nestle on top, yellow borders, and the player's name, position, and team on the bottom. The reverse of the cards features the normal bio, while the backs are printed in red and blue on white card paper.
