Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1987 Donruss Super DK's Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

1987 Donruss Super DK's set has 28 cards which there was one Cubs player

Card Dimensions

The standard-sized cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"

Basic Features

This 28-card set was offered as part of a mail-in promotion that was described on the wax packs. The set includes Diamond King subseries (approximately 4 7/8" x 6 13/16"), which are essentially larger versions of the Diamond Kings. The original artwork from which these cards were derived was created by Dick Perez of Perez-Steele Galleries. Any Dick Perez, in my opinion, is worth collecting.

Remember, these are hard to store because of their size.
