Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1985 O'Connell & Son Ink Series 2 Cubs

36 cards in the 1985 Series 2 collection included 2 Cubs players.

Size of Cards

The earlier cards #1-108 are slightly larger in size (2 & 5/8" x 3 & 5/8"), cards after #108 are standard size

Basic Features

The artist, T.S. O'Connell, drew big league players on colored backdrops for this set. The card number and the player's name are printed on the front. The backs of each card are blank. This set's 1984 series 1 does not include any Cubs.
