Food cards from the early twentieth century to the present have a devoted following among collectors. This is only one of hundreds of strange sets available. There are some weird sets that are extremely difficult to obtain or extremely rare, but not this one.Baseball cards have been packed as a promotional component in food products for decades. Drake's Bakery decided to try to capitalize on Hostess' popularity with baseball cards and baked products in 1980s.
The term "2nd Annual Collectors' Edition," which is printed in a ribbon style at the top of the photo, was put in a distinctive design on the front of the cards. Each photo has a quarter-bunting in the corners, with red for the AL and green for the NL.
The backs of the cards have the same green and blue as the regular Topps format from 1982, and the images are larger than last year's. There are 21 returnees. In the lower border, Drake's logo is centered.
