Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1985 Topps Stickers Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

376 cards in the 1985 Topps Stickers collection included 15 Cubs players.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards measure approximately 2 1/8" by 3"

Basic Features

Made in Italy for Topps and O-Pee-Chee by Panini, stickers feature white-bordered color player photographs. The stickers may be placed on an album that was sold in stores. The typical All-Star Players subset, which has a foil border, is included in this set. On the back was a poster or a signed baseball offer. You only needed to purchase 50 or 100 stickers. The Cubs' team baseball was a facsimile autographed baseball.

O-Pee-Chee was exactly the same as the Topps set except that the horizontal backs carry a bilingual ad for O-Pee-Chee in blue lettering. Look for differences at the bottom.
