This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Basic Features

The Best Baseball Book Ever by Red Foley, released in 1988 by Simon and Schuster, is a large-format publication measuring 8 1/2" by 11". This engaging book features a variety of interactive elements, including 130 stickers, puzzles, quizzes, and how-to guides, along with a wealth of trivia. The stickers can be easily peeled off and placed in a collectible sticker book, with four insert pages dedicated to them in the center of the book.

Each sticker, sized at 1 3/8" by 1 7/8", showcases a vibrant color photograph of a player, framed in white. Readers are encouraged to affix these stickers in designated slots adjacent to trivia questions related to the respective players, enhancing the interactive experience of the book.

The front and back covers of the book feature several Cubs players that you can cut out and collect. This year those hand cut out have Red border.
