This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Distributed by Eckerd Drug Stores in the heyday of Junk Era baseball cards, the 1988 Baseball Record Setters box set was offered for $1.99. The fronts are framed with red and blue borders with full-color player photos. Backs had the normal bio and career stats. The cards' packaging refers to the collection as the "1988 Baseball Record Setters."The set's checklist is included on the back of the set box. Six stickers from the Fleer main collection from 1988 were also included.
