Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1986 MSA Jiffy Pop Discs Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

1986 MSA Jiffy Pop Discs have 20 discs in the set, and there is 1 Cubs player.

Size of Cards

The size of the discs are 2 3/4" in diameter

Basic Features

Each 2-7/8" diameter circular disc features a player image, the Jiffy Pop name, the player's name, position, and team, all enclosed inside a strong yellow border. Jiffy Pop is flanked by seven red stars on either side, and the phrase "1st Annual Collectors' Edition" is written in blue below the player's image. Because they do not have a license from Major League Baseball, the fronts do not display team logos and have the insignia airbrushed out. The discs include numbers on the back and very little player-specific personal or statistical data.
