Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1987 Stuart Bakery Superstars Panels Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

Twenty-eight four-part folding panels make up the 1987 Stuart Super Stars set, which was issued only in Canada. Three player cards and a sweepstakes entry form card comprise each panel.

Size of Cards

Cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-7/16"and the panels are 10-1/8" by 3-7/16"

Basic Features

They were produced on white cardboard and feature a player headshot flanked by blue panels carrying twelve stars. Below a pair of crossed wooden bats with the Stuart logo, "Joueurs étoiles," and "Super Stars" on either side at the bottom, the player's name, team, and position are printed. The MLBPA logo can still be seen even if all team logos have been erased. On the backs, a bilingual biography and the player's previous year's statistics are printed on a white background.
