This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1984 Chicago Tribune Cubs Checklist

1984 Chicago Tribune has 34 cards, which all are Cubs players.

Size of Cards

The cards are the following dimensions: 6.5" x 4.25", before being folded over to form a 3.25" x 4.25" card.

Basic Features

34 Chicago Cubs players are featured in the 1984 Chicago Tribune set, which was published in the newspaper's sports section. The posed color headshots feature blue borders and are 3 1/4" by 4 5/8". Player information, including position, date of birth, playing history, baseball career, and major-league playing record, is displayed next to the photo in a portion of equal dimensions. In the Chicago Tribune's September 1984 issues, cards came eight on a sheet. The checklist are shown below in alphabetical order but are not numbered.
