Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Card Dimensions

The standard-sized cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"

Basic Features

The front side showcases player photos with white borders and colored lines within the white margin on the left. At the bottom, the player's name, team, and bilingual position are displayed in colored text. Additionally, the player's name is presented with a facsimile autograph across the photo. The backs, which are green with blue print, feature the player's name, bilingual position, and biography at the top. Below that, the player's major league statistics are listed. Each card is numbered on the back. Cards marked with an asterisk include an extra line on the front within the picture area to indicate a team change.
