Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1986 Rob Broder Cubs Checklist unlicensed

An unlicensed card is referred to as a "broder" in the card collecting jargon.

Number of Cards

50 cards in the 1986 Rob Broder collection included 1 Cubs player with 3 cards.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are 5x7

Basic Features

The player's name is printed on the face of this 50-card unlicensed set, which features rounded corners without a border. The player's name, the phrase "Photography by Rob Broder," and a number out of 50 are all on the back of the card. Borders cards have no investment value; they are strictly an advertisement for Borders business.
