Team colors frame the front of the card, and the Topps logo is located along the top of the frame.Card backs contain the usual statistics and biographical information and have orange backs. If room allowed, the bottom of the card contained either a small comment regarding the player's career, previous seasons' major accomplishments, or both.

1983 Topps Traded Baseball is a 132-card set. Card fronts have two photos, a large action shot on top and a small circular portrait inset in the nameplate.Though the design was the same as the base set, the cards were printed in Ireland on white cardstock, which is different from the previous years.
