Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are standard-size 2 ½ x 3 ½

Basic Features

A baseball glove was included with the Louisville Slugger card, lol. Actually, it was the other way around, which is why theres a hole in the upper left corner. Cards feature white borders around the player's picture in the center, with the "Louisville Slugger" ID on the bottom and his name encircled in blue at the top. This was a great shot of Wrigley Field ivy and the sarge! reverse contained biographical information and records by the ball player with a short blurb. Gary Matthews was one of the most charismatic players the franchise ever had.
