Welcome Cubs Fans!
This Blog will be about the decade of 1980 and the hobby of collecting baseball cards, mainly Chicago Cubs. Most of the modern day cards are inexpensive unlike vintage baseball it will be much easier to collect the different sets. So we will start off with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck with thousands of cards in-between. Highlight of this era is 83 Sandberg Rookie

1983 O-Pee-Chee had 396 standard-size cards and contains virtually the same pictures for the players as the 1983 Topps issue. The fronts feature white-bordered color player action photos framed by a colored line. A circular color player head shot also appears on the front at the lower right. The player's name, team and bilingual position appear at the lower left. The pink and white horizontal backs carry the player's name and biography at the top. The player's major league statistics and bilingual career highlights follow below. The asterisked cards have an extra line on the front inside the picture area indicating team change. The O-Pee-Chee logo appears on the front of every card. Super Veteran (SV) and All-Star (AS) cards are indicated in the checklist below; these are included in the set in addition to the player's regular card. The set features Rookie Card of Ryne Sandberg.

1983 Fleer contains 660 cards and features color player photographs set inside a brown border. A team logo is located along the bottom of the card as well as the players name and position. The Fleer logo is located along the top border. The backs are set in a vertical format and include a small black and white player photograph along with stats and a short bio. Cards 629-646 Highlight (HL), and 647-660 are checklist cards.
