Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will explore the baseball card collecting hobby of the 1980s, particularly highlighting the Chicago Cubs. Unlike vintage baseball cards, most modern cards are quite budget-friendly. The different sets will be much easier to find. Therefore, with thousands of cards in the mix, we will begin with the 80 Topps and conclude with the highly valuable 1985 Topps Mini Test. The pinnacle of this era was marked by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

2025 Topps Series 1+2 + Update Cubs Checklist

Number of Cards

The 350-card base set is back for the 2025 Topps Series 1 Baseball season.

Size of Cards

The size of the cards are standard-size 2 ½ x 3 ½

Basic Features

The 2025 Topps card design falls short of expectations In addition to subsets like Future Stars, League Leaders, and team cards, it has a base of 350 cards with a primary concentration on veterans and rookies. The absence of Mother's Day Pink and Father's Day Blue is one of the more intriguing differences.

The team name is oriented vertically on the left side, which may pose readability challenges. At the bottom, the player's name is presented alongside a baseball diamond featuring a colored dot that indicates their position. While the design incorporates elements reminiscent of classic Topps cards, the quality of the photography is notably outstanding.

Each card in the set showcased a player from the American League and another player from the National League. It's worth noting that these cards were officially licensed by the MLBPA and produced by MSA (Michael Schechter Associates). This peculiar collection truly captures the essence of the 90s era.
