Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

Its 1935 Goudey set included four players on a single card and backs had a piece to a puzzle. Only 36 total cards were included, which was the second straight year the company shrunk its checklist of its baseball set.

1983 Card Collectors 1953 Bowman Black & White Reprint

Number of Cards

1953 Bowman Black & White Reprint have a total of 64 cards which there is 6 Cubs players

Size of Cards

The cards are the following dimensions: 2 1/2" by 3 5/8"

Basic Features

Issued in 1983 by the New York-based Card Collector's Company [C.C.C.], this set contains REPRINTS of 1953 famous Bowman cards. Reputable reprint producers like Card Collectors Company clearly mark their cards with "REPRINT" on the bottom back.

The reprints provide a real alternative for those who are attracted to vintage cards but can't afford them. With the price of old vintage baseball cards skyrocketing, so too are the vast numbers of counterfeiters out there.

The real 1950 set info:

Bowman Gum had evolved into the premier manufacturer of bubble gum cards during this time period. In its 1953 sets, Bowman made use of the simplest card layout imaginable: only a player's image, a white border, and a black line dividing the three. The backs of these cards contain the player's name and a short biography also included lifetime and last year stats.
