This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1987 Donruss All-Stars+Popups Cubs Checklist

Basic Features

Under the brand name Donruss All-Stars, Donruss produced a number of large card sets between 1983 and 1987. The 1986 All-Star Game, which was held in Houston. The card fronts have an action picture and a black border in full color. On white stock, the card backs are printed in blue and black. Backs of cards are numbered. The player's former All-Star game statistics are displayed on the reverse of the card.

In 1987, the Donruss Pop-Ups baseball card set was issued. The 20 baseball cards in the collection are "fold-out" cards that are around 2 1/2" x 5" in size. Full color is used on card fronts. The backs of cards don't reveal anything about the player. Three All-Star cards and one pop-up card are included in each package.
