Welcome Cubs Fans!

This Blog will be about the decade of 1980 and the hobby of collecting baseball cards, mainly Chicago Cubs. Most of the modern day cards are inexpensive unlike vintage baseball it will be much easier to collect the different sets. So we will start off with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck with thousands of cards in-between. Highlight of this era is 83 Sandberg Rookie

1988 Panini Stickers

These 480 stickers measure approximately 1 15/16" by 2 11/16" (regular) and 2 1/8" by 2 11/16" (foils). There are 80 foil stickers in the set; these foils are essentially the non-player stickers. A 64-page album onto which the stickers could be affixed was available at retail stores (for 59 cents) and was also given away to Little Leaguers as part of a national promotion. The album features Don Mattingly on the front and a photo of a gold glove on the back. The album and the sticker numbering are organized alphabetically by team with AL teams preceding NL teams. The last 26 stickers in the album are actually lettered rather than numbered but are listed below as numbers 455-480. The stickers were also sold at retail outlets packed with the album as a "Complete Collectors Set." The 1988 Panini Sticker set was heavily promoted as Panini entered the baseball sticker market under its own label after producing Topps' stickers for the previous seven years

Not exactly one of my favorite sets, the backs are boring all the same. There are 2 action shot cards one is a butt of Jody Davis.
