Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1985 Leaf has 264 cards which there are 12 Cubs Players

Card Dimensions

The standard-sized cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"

Basic Features

The Donruss Company in conjunction with its new parent Leaf Company issued this set to the Canadian market. Aside from card number differences the cards are essentially the same as the Donruss U.S. regular issue of the cards of the same players; however the backs are in both French and English. As in most Canadian sets, the players featured are heavily biased towards Canadian teams and those American teams closest to the Canadian border

Those players selected for and included as Diamond Kings do not have a regular card in the set. The player cards are numbered on the back
