Welcome Cubs Fans!

This blog will discuss the 1980s and the baseball card collecting hobby, with a focus on the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to vintage baseball cards, the majority of modern cards are affordable. The various sets will be considerably simpler to obtain. So, with thousands of cards in between, we'll start with 80 Topps and end with 89 Upper Deck. The apex of this period was represented by the Sandberg Rookie of the Year in 1983.

1985 Fleer Team Action Stickers

Number of Cards

The 1985 Fleer Team Action Stickers collection consists of 52 stickers, of which 2 are associated with the Cubs team. Additionally, each sticker features three distinct backs.

Card Dimensions

Each sticker measures roughly 2" by 3."

Basic Features

Each team is represented by two stickers: one featuring the team logo and the other showcasing the home jersey or pennant. To enhance the excitement of collecting, Fleer introduced three distinct backs! Certain teams within this set have variations, and with the inclusion of the three different backs, completing the collection can be quite challenging—except for the Cubs.

Cards became available to the general public in these formats:

  • 15-Card Wax Packs
  • 28-Card Cello Packs
  • 45 (15x3) Card Rack Packs

The most frequently seen back features a contest form printed on it, while a less common version displays the same contest form but in a larger font. Lastly, the rarest variant is blank.

Always ensure that you obtain a professional grading service from a reputable company to avoid acquiring a counterfeit piece of history. The long-term value of graded cards is significantly higher.
